To destroy or not to destroy?

If i have the power to end the human race. If i can end it without pain. If there is no such thing as reincarnation. Would you be on my side?

I do have a happy life. I smile almost everyday. However, i am looking at the bigger picture. The pains, sufferings and anguishes that billions are suffering each day. You can't feel it right? I can't. Here i am sitting in front of the computer, in the comfort of the air conditioned room. Is this fair? Is this the balance of nature? The weighing scale between happiness and misery.

Would you sacrifice your happiness for someone else's sadness? Don't you worry, you will not even get the chance to think if what you did was worth it or not. Humans may no longer feel happiness, but there is no more sadness or pain anymore. Its all for the greater good.

Heres the bit which i thought summarize the whole article:

The real catch here, I think, is that when we intend a future action, our affective state is often particularly positive. Why? Because we're putting off action until the future (at the very least a relief), or we're imagining ourselves engaged in some action that we perceive will make us happy, and this is pleasant in and of itself. This is particularly true for actions related to future health behaviors. For example, if I intend to go for a run tomorrow, I feel good about myself for making such a proactive health-related intention. Good for me! My current affective state is positive, and I incorrectly forecast that my affective state tomorrow at the intended time of the run will be the same.

For those too lazy to even read the above text, this is my one line summary:

Live like there is no tomorrow, do it now, not tomorrow.

I came across this while browsing Joey Yap facebook page. Apparently he is a Best Selling Author, Consultant and Educator with regards to Feng Shui, BaZi, Mian Xiang. I just find the last sentence of this post really humorous as a Star Wars fan. Enjoy.

Joey Yap Q: "I am writing to ask you again on my question pertaining to the tiger painting. Is it really OK to put tiger painting in the living hall? I understand from my elders that having a tiger painting is a no no. Also asked the medium on this. Need to know this as I will be putting that painting in the living hall since y...ou said it’s OK. Attached is the painting of the tiger I bought from Bali."

A: My answer is still - Yes it's ok - as long as you like the painting.

A painting, has NO Qi. And it will emit NO Qi. Hence, it will NOT affect your Feng Shui nor should it affect you. However, it may affect you psychologically if you attach much meaning and emotions to it. Hence, sometimes people 'feel' that the painting is affecting them. But in reality it does nothing on it's own nor does it affect the flow of Qi in your home. The Tiger is not going to come-to-life at night and eat your dog.

Yes I too have heard some 'elders' say Tiger paintings are 'too fierce for you'. Others say if your life is 'weak' therefore cannot tame the tiger. These are all unqualified remarks. (And - sorry to say, the elders are not professional Feng Shui practitioners. They did not study classical Feng Shui. They probably base their little information on hearsay, folklore or old wives tales). Lemme ask you - what if put a picture of Godzilla? Would this be too 'fierce' too? Or how about a portrait of Darth Vader? He may find your lack of faith, disturbing.

Facebook users beware. Psychologists are now probing a new kind of addiction called Facebook Addiction Disorder (FAD).

Psychologist Dr. Michael Fenichel, who has published numerous writings on FAD online, describes it as a situation in which Facebook usage "overtakes" daily activities like waking up, getting dressed, using the telephone, or checking e-mail.

"The amazing thing is that, like cellphones, nobody seems to notice the vast amount of time and energy - at work, at home, and now while on the move - people are devoting to Facebook. It has become a given," Fenichel writes in an online post titled "Facebook Addiction Disorder- A New Challenge?"

FAD could be classified under the more broad "internet addiction disorder" or internet overuse.

Academic papers have already posed theories on internet addiction and social networking addiction, and even less, cellphone addiction.

"Like most activities, moderation and integration are key. Those that may seriously label and treat FAD as a behavioral addiction will clearly need to use context in determining if a behavior has become demonstrably harmful to overall social, work, or face-to-face interpersonal efficacy," Fenichel added.

You are a Facebook addict if...

According to Joanna Lipari, a clinical psychologist at the University of California, Los Angeles who was interviewed for a CNN report, here are some signs that you are addicted to Facebook:

1. You lose sleep over Facebook. When using Facebook becomes a compulsion and you spend entire nights logged on to the site, causing you to become tired the next day.

2. You spend more than an hour a day on Facebook. Lipari said it is difficult to define how much is too much when it comes to Facebook usage, but that an average person need only spend half an hour on the site.

3. You become obsessed with old loves or exes you reconnect with on Facebook.

4. You ignore work in favor of Facebook. This means you do not do your job in order to sneak time on Facebook.

5. The thought of getting off Facebook leaves you in cold sweat. If you try going a day without Facebook and it causes you stress and anxiety, this means you need help.

According to the same report by Elizabeth Cohen, Senior CNN Medical Correspondent, Facebook addiction is not yet an actual medical diagnosis.

However, the report notes that several therapists in the United States have noticed a rise in the number of clients who get hooked on social networking, to the point of social dysfunction.

Facebook, launched by the world's youngest billionaire Mark Zuckerberg, has over 300 million users worldwide, half of whom log on to the site every day.

Further, about 2 billion photos and 14 million videos are uploaded on various Facebook pages a month and about 6 billion minutes are spent on Facebook a day, worldwide.

According to Willis Wee, founder of the social media and marketing blog Penn-Olson.com, this is twice as much time that people spend on Google.

The 46-year-old Chinese producer cum actor recently raised eyebrows when he was reported to have spent 20million dollars on a sprawling bungalow located in Binjai Rise, a prime residential area. Li reportedly emigrated to the United States 20 years ago to advance his career in the Hollywood movie industry. He was confirmed of his Singaporean citizenship a month ago and was said to have chose Singapore for its good education system.

Li's older 10-year-old daughter is currently schooling at the Singapore American School. He hopes for both his children to receive an all-rounded education. During the Forbes Global CEO Conference organised in Singapore last year, the Chinese actor appeared to be very supportive and pleased with the education system in Singapore.

With a Singapore citizenship, the actor can now spend more time with his family members who have been residing in Singapore for the past two years. Apart from enjoying the country's good education system and the privileges conferred upon its citizens, plus with a Singapore passport, he can now travel from country to country without much hassle and documentation work.

The actor is currently taking a break from acting to concentrate with his charity work. He launched a charity organization called "One Foundation" in China last year in April. A joint-collaboration with the Red Cross Society of China, One Foundation hopes to raise funds and provide help to all victims of natural disasters.

Wife stabs husband late home after Man U match

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Police have detained a Malaysian woman who allegedly stabbed her husband in the chest for coming home late after watching a football match between Manchester United and Malaysia, an official said Tuesday.

The man had promised to come back immediately after the match in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday evening, but his wife was "very angry" when he returned after midnight, said district police chief Abdul Jalil Hassan.

The woman stabbed him twice in the chest with a kitchen knife and then took him to a hospital, where a doctor reported the incident to police, Abdul Jalil told The Associated Press.

"He was with friends after the match, so that's why he came home late," Abdul Jalil said.

The man was recovering in the hospital, he said.

Police have not decided whether to charge the woman with any offense.

The English Premier League champions defeated Malaysia 3-2 on Saturday in their opening match on a preseason Asian tour.

To help ward off dementia, train your brain
Timing is everything, comedians say.

It's also important when it comes to taking care of your brain. Yet
most of us start worrying about dementia after retirement - and that may
be too little, too late.

Experts say that if you really want to ward off dementia, you need to
start taking care of your bean in your 30s and 40s - or even earlier.

"More and more research is suggesting that lifestyle is very important
to your brain's health," says Dr. Paul Nussbaum, a neuropsychologist and
an adjunct associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of
Medicine. "If you want to live a long, healthy life, then many of us
need to start as early as we can."

So what can you do to beef up your brain - and possibly ward off
dementia? Nussbaum, who recently gave a speech on the topic for the
Winter Park ( Fla. ) Health Foundation, offers 20 tips that may help.

1. Join clubs or organizations that need volunteers. If you start
volunteering now, you won't feel lost and unneeded after you retire.

2. Develop a hobby or two. Hobbies help you develop a robust brain
because you're trying something new and complex.

3. Practice writing with your nondominant hand several minutes every
day. This will exercise the opposite side of your brain and fire up
those neurons.

4. Take dance lessons. In a study of nearly 500 people, dancing was the
only regular physical activity associated with a significant decrease in
the incidence of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease. The people who
danced three or four times a week showed 76 percent less incidence of
dementia than those who danced only once a week or not at all.

5. Need a hobby? Start gardening. Researchers in New Zealand found
that, of 1,000 people, those who gardened regularly were less likely to
suffer from dementia. Not only does gardening reduce stress, but
gardeners use their brains to plan gardens; they use visual and spatial
reasoning to lay out a garden.

6. Buy a pedometer and walk 10,000 steps a day. Walking daily can
reduce the risk of dementia because cardiovascular health is important
to maintain blood flow to the brain.

7. Read and write daily. Reading stimulates a wide variety of brain
areas that process and store information. Likewise, writing (not
copying) stimulates many areas of the brain as well.

8. Start knitting. Using both hands works both sides of your brain. And
it's a stress reducer.

9. Learn a new language. Whether it's a foreign language or sign
language, you are working your brain by making it go back and forth
between one language and the other. A researcher in England found that
being bilingual seemed to delay symptoms of Alzheimer's disease for four
years. (And some research suggests that the earlier a child learns sign
language, the higher his IQ - and people with high IQs are less likely
to have dementia. So start them early.)

10. Play board games such as Scrabble and Monopoly. Not only are you
taxing your brain, you're socializing too. (Playing solo games, such as
solitaire or online computer brain games can be helpful, but Nussbaum
prefers games that encourage you to socialize too.)

11. Take classes throughout your lifetime. Learning produces structural
and chemical changes in the brain, and education appears to help people
live longer. Brain researchers have found that people with advanced
degrees live longer - and if they do have Alzheimer's, it often becomes
apparent only in the very later stages of the disease.

12. Listen to classical music. A growing volume of research suggests
that music may hard wire the brain, building links between the two
hemispheres. Any kind of music may work, but there's some research that
shows positive effects for classical music, though researchers don't
understand why.

13. Learn a musical instrument. It may be harder than it was when you
were a kid, but you'll be developing a dormant part of your brain.

14. Travel. When you travel (whether it's to a distant vacation spot or
on a different route across town), you're forcing your brain to navigate
a new and complex environment. A study of London taxi drivers found
experienced drivers had larger brains because they have to store lots of
information about locations and how to navigate there.

15. Pray. Daily prayer appears to help your immune system. And people
who attend a formal worship service regularly live longer and report
happier, healthier lives..

16. Learn to meditate. It's important for your brain that you learn to
shut out the stresses of everyday life.

17. Get enough sleep. Studies have shown a link between interrupted
sleep and dementia.

18. Eat more foods containing omega-3 fatty acids: Salmon, sardines,
tuna, ocean trout, mackerel or herring, plus walnuts (which are higher
in omega 3s than salmon) and flaxseed. Flaxseed oil, cod liver oil and
walnut oil are good sources too.

19. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Antioxidants in fruits and
vegetables mop up some of the damage caused by free radicals, one of the
leading killers of brain cells.

20. Eat at least one meal a day with family and friends. You'll slow

An insight into decision-making: Which one would you choose?

A group of children were playing near two railway tracks, one still in use while the other unused. Only one child played on the unused track, and the rest of the children on the operational track.

The train is coming, and you are just beside the track interchange, who happened to have the chance to change the course of the train.
You can make the train change its course to the unused track and save most of the children.

However, that would also mean the lone child playing by the unused track would be sacrificed. Or would you rather let the train go its way?

Let's take a pause to think what kind of decision we could make...............

Most people might choose to divert the course of the train, and sacrifice only one child. Because to save most of the children at the expense of only one child was rational decision most people would make, morally and emotionally.
But, have you ever thought that the child choosing to play on the disused track had in fact made the right decision to play at a safe place?

Nevertheless, he had to be sacrificed because of his ignorant friends who chose to play where the danger was.

This kind of dilemma happens around us everyday. In the office, community, in politics and especially in a democratic society, the minority is often sacrificed for the interest of the majority, no matter how foolish or ignorant the majority are, and how farsighted and knowledgeable the minority are. The child who chose not to play with the rest on the operational track was sidelined. And in the case he was sacrificed, no one would shed a tear for him.

The great critic Leo Velski Julian who told the story, said he would not try to change the course of the train because he believed that the kids playing on the operational track should have known very well that track was still in use, and that they should have run away if they heard the train's sirens.

If the train was diverted, that lone child would definitely die because he never thought the train could come over to that track!

Moreover, that track was not in use probably because the track was not safe. If the train was diverted to the track, we could put the lives of all passengers on board at stake! And in the attempt to save a few kids by sacrificing one child, you might end up sacrificing hundreds of people to save these few kids.

While we are all aware that life is full of tough decisions that need to be made, we may not realize that hasty decisions may not always be the right one.

Staff strip naked to improve morale

David Taylor, a business psychologist, told workers at design and marketing onebestway, in Newcastle upon Tyne, that a Naked Friday idea would boost their team spirit.

He was called in to help the firm after six staff members were forced into taking redundancies at the start of the credit crunch.

Taylor told them that, by stripping off their clothes, staff could also strip away inhibitions and talk to each other more openly and honestly.

He said: "Inviting an organisation to go naked is the most extreme technique I've used. It may seem weird but it works. It's the ultimate expression of trust in yourself and each other."

Despite some initial reluctance, nearly all the staff took off all their clothes – except for one man, who wore a posing pouch, and one of two female workers, who kept on black underwear.

Sam Jackson, 23, the house manager, was the only woman to go fully naked. She said: "It was brilliant. Now that we've seen each other naked, there are no barriers.

"We weren't put under pressure. If we wanted to come in clothed or in our underwear, we could. But I love my body and wasn't ashamed.

"We're all beautiful, whether we've got big bodies or small ones."

Miss Jackson, who suffers from cerebral palsy, said: "It took a week of David being in the office for us to build up courage. The first few steps were very nerve-racking but, once I got to my desk and got used to it, I felt totally comfortable.

"It was emotional but we found we were much more able to talk to each other honestly – and have been since. The company has improved massively."

The experiment in April was filmed for a one-off TV show, Naked Office, to be screened on July 9 on cable channel Virgin 1.

Asian star says 'no' to actress Megan Fox

Hollywood Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen actress Megan Fox recently openly expressed her interest in Korean star Rain and also a desire to date the latter, who replied plainly to her invite, "I'm not interested."

According to media reports, Fox has spoke numerously about her admiration for Rain while on the movie promotional tour.

And that was not just a comment made by Fox; she has indeed extended a dinner date to Rain through her manager but was rejected by the Korean star who was "not interested".

Yet, the rejection did not wound her pride and ironically, it has built up stronger interest of Rain in Fox who recently criticized the comparison of herself to Angelina Jolie.

According to reports, Fox loves such challenges and has no plans to give up. She would continue extending her invite to Rain, hoping that he would agree to meet up someday.

Sex for a week boosts sperm quality

Men seeking to become a dad should have sex each day, or ejaculate daily, for a week before their partner ovulates in order to maximise sperm quality, according to a study presented on Tuesday.

Australian fertility specialist David Greening recruited 118 men whose sperm had a higher-than-normal level of DNA damage.

Before the test, on average 34 percent of the group's sperm was rated as damaged, meaning that it was classified as "poor" in quality. Among individuals, this ranged from 15 percent to 98 percent.

The men were asked to ejaculate daily for seven days, but were not given any drugs or told to make any changes to lifestyle.

After seven days, their sperm was examined again.

The average of damaged sperm fell to 26 percent, placing it in the category of "fair" in quality.

Fourth-fifths of the men saw an increase in sperm quality, and many of them moved into the "good" range and out of the "poor" or "fair" categories.

However, one-fifth saw a decline in sperm quality.

Greening, an obstetrician and endrocrinologist at Sydney IVF, an Australian company that carries out assisted reproduction, said the improvements were "substantial and statistically highly significant."

Daily ejaculation not only boosted sperm quality for most of the men, it also helped sperm motility -- another big factor in successful fertilisation -- even though volumes of semen declined, he said.

Greening presented his findings at a conference in Amsterdam of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), which provided details in a press release.

The research did not investigate whether the improvement in sperm quality led to better pregnancy rates. But previous work has shown that sperm that is less damaged and more mobile has a better chance of leading to a healthy baby.

"These results may mean that men player a greater role in fertility than previously suspected, and that ejaculatory frequency is important for improving sperm quality," said Greening.

Why this is so is unclear.

Greening said he suspected that the longer sperm stays in the testicular ducts, the greater its exposure to rogue oxygen molecules that damage cells.

His advice to couples would be to have sex, or to ejaculate, daily in the runup to ovulation or to sperm donation for in-vitro fertilisation (IVF).

"The optimal number of days of ejaculation might be more or less seven days, but a week seems manageable and favourable," he said.

"It seems safe to conclude that couples with relatively normal semen parameters should have sex daily for up to a week before ovulation date."

caught 2 movies on sat, Red Cliff 2 and Ong bak 2. Red cliff 2 is not bad. A much anticipated sequel which completes the story. I personally prefered part 1's strategies and fights. Ong bak 2 was a disappointment to me, part 1 was way better i thought. It ended off with a cliff hanger and now i have to wait for part 3 to know the ending. I hope it will be a better sequel.

School's started and lifes back to trying to get myself to study. penned down my new year resolutions and hope i can work towards them. just looking forward to chinese new year, for a short break and mahjong and eating. after that will be the cage match, end of jan! Oh yes, diving trip at dayang, end of feb! sth else to look forward too! lifes filled with excitement!

yes i m finally back from turkey and kind of settled. house is still a lil messy. hmm. there are too many fotos (around 2000 of it) and so i shall just highlight certain stuff and choose certain fotos to upload!

its around 10 hr flight from singapore to istanbul. managed to watch 3 movies while on board the plane (turkish airline). once we touched down and leave the plane, i felt the cool air i've been longing for. the temp there during winter is fantastic!! cold and nice! the highest it went was around 15 deg cel i think but most of the time its around 5 deg cel and at times -3 deg cel where i played with snow for the 1st time in my life. haha! weee!

let me sum up the whole trip here in this paragraph b4 bringing u thru my journey in turkey. I feel the trip was good, even the weather played along well with us. The 1st half of the journey covered many mosque and outdoor historical sites, which involves a lot of climbing around. the weather was cooling, yet no rain nor snow yet, so the ground was dry and easy to move about. the later part of the trip it started to snow, which gave us a nice white xmas feel and the hot air balloon trip and cruise ride ended our trip memorably.

been a long time since i had steamboat! kel's parents were wonderful to invite us over a steamboat dinner! thanks so much! there were so much food, i was so bloated! it reminded us of our classic steamboat session at jon's place, it was suppose to be dinner, but we started only around 12am and ate finish around 2-3am. we were like like dozing off while eating. haha.

watched 'the day earth stood still' after that. i felt its a typical movie, similar to 'war of worlds' kind of movies. think watch it online will be better. oh wait i m not suppose to promote piracy. watch it at the theatres if u r feeling rich!

last night went jb for supper and some beer. its fun just to have a lil spin to our neighbouring country, and makan and chill. firstly let me comment about the road in msia, its so dangerously built, its like made for accidents. driving in a 2 way road,

well, we found a placed to dine. you can head to Toothy Seductionto check out the food there. After that we head to some club to chill. Second thing i would like to comment about is the toilet! the male and female toilet is like separated by a 2 feet grass patch and 2 glass panels! i know u cant visualize what i m trying to depict, but just know this, when i m freaking peeing into the uriner, the ladies from the female toilet and freaking look at me pee!

A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?'

The father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes'. They went on
to complete the marathon together.

Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying
'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race together.

One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together,"
to which his father said 'Yes'.

For those who don't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race
encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86 kilometer) ocean
swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, ending with a
26.2 mile (42.195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island.

finally the euro 2008 is over! been watching every match, sure took a toll on me, black rings appearing and fatigue level rising. anyways, made a small amt of money from this euro, considering the huge amts i invested. oh well, fortunately i made money instead of losing, almost lost over 1K. heh.

lets see whats been happening. picking up tennis again, had a nice session over at derrick's place. jamming quite a bit too. went over to gav's place to play some songs with kel. Natural Objection is looking for a singer and a drummer. interested parties may apply! =) jammed with the TN BoyZ too. completed 2 songs and looking forward to our next sessions already!

watched the incredible hulk. i feel its worth the money. at the end, they showed Tony Stark aka Ironman mentioning forming a team. I believe he is talking about The Avengers. Cant wait for the next sequel to be out!

If you are interested, you can check out the Ultimate Avengers Animated Movie. Its quite nice. They show how the avengers subdue the hulk. heard theres a sequel to that too and also theres the next avengers, where the kids of the superheroes get together to fight a common enemy!

rented a car together with james, i took sat and he took sun. its kinda my first time driving after i passed in feb. finally i used my 'p' plate! well, i dunno abt others, but i considered myself daring. With no prior experience with the expressway, parking in multi-storey carparks or the likes of heavy traffic in orchard etc, i drove from choa chu kang to bedok on my own. it was not a perfect journey tho! haha, departed from cck,travelled along pie, supposed to head all the way to bedok, but i ended up in gul, tuas indusrial area. what a place to end up, went round and round and with the help of the street directory, managed to go back on track! picked up the terror and headed to east coast park to blade. man, think my blade's really old and lousy. time to buy a new pair!

sent terror back and i headed home. dunno how i ended up in town area, bustling thru the roads of orchard, found my way back on the expressway again and headed home safely!

After that i wanted to drive my family to queensway for dinner, but i missed the turn so we headed to balestier instead. the food there was disappointing. we headed to holland v next and went to haagen daz for dessert! sent my family back and i headed to selegi to pick up james, drove to woodlands to chill with the rest of the tengah boys. by the time i reached there, everyone was like pretty high already. well, with the tengah boys, its always crazy games and lots of drinking. its sun now and i spent most of the day sleeping!

left hand

recently, i've taken up the task of training my left hand to write. well, theres 3 reasons why. 1 is for fun, 2 is because i have the tendency to tire my right hand after writing long notes, thus with the ability to write with my left hand i can switch about when the other tires out and 3 is because i think my natural dominant hand is left. my mum told me i used to write with my left, but she corrected me to be a right hander. and beside writing, i tend to use my left hand more den my right. i can spin a book or ball with my left, but not with my right, i started spnning the pen with my left followed by my right, when i play time crisis, i hold the gun with my left. so its time for me to unleash my true talent as a lefty! haha!

was talking to gav, about being left handed and found out a few things. being left handed is really a disadvantage. if you are using inked pen, the hand will smear onto the ink as u move ur hand from left to right. if you forget what u just wrote, u have to lift your hand to see what you just wrote. there are also issues with ruler and some other stuff.

well, did the creator of alphabets and characters meant them for right handed people? did you notice all the capital letters are facing the right which is convenient for left to right writing. oh well, i shall train up and be ambidextrous!

random thought of the day: (again taken from mind your body of straits times and again abt a fruit) did u know the kiwi fruit originated from china and now from new zealand?

If you ask me, i think we should, what harm will there be on Singapore? Make the gays and lesbians happy and our work productivity will increase! Adoption rate will increase! hmmm. Comments?

Just some thoughts for the day.

The cyclone and the Earth quake taking so many lives! Could the prophecy regarding the end of the world be true? Are these part of the process to the eventual end time! Or is this natures way of correcting over population in the world.

The amount of shark fins eaten a year has increased with each passing year. It was reported that some species of sharks are facing extinction and some are endangered. What are we to do? Eat as many shark fins now before they are all gone or stop eating, so we can maintain a substantial amount of sharks in the world? Of cos, the right thing to do is to stop, but i believe most people will not! So should we?

Ytd, Sunday, We celebrated Ah Ma's Bday at The China Club located at the top of Capital Towers,at the 52nd storey. The restaurant is surrounded by glass panels and all round you can view the scenic singapore! haha. The place is really nicely decorated and the service is pretty good. They served the ladies 1st followed by the men. The set back for me is, the servings are quite little, because instead of placing the food in the centre of the table, they already distribute the food onto plates and serve them to us. Its not a must try, but its a different experience i guess, just a suggestion for those who like to try something different. For more information, click here!

Oh and you know what? I asked for XO Brandy, then the waitress asked me if i am above 18. LOL. Oh my, i still look so young! =D

End of the World: 21 Dec 2012.

You all may already heard of this news. For those who are still ignorant about it. Here is a rough summary of what is going on. The Mayan calendar predicted the world would end Dec. 21, 2012. Even before today, there were so many predictions of the end of the world; In the Philippines, a religious cult believed the world would end Dec. 31, 1999. Its members went inside a cave in Tagaytay wearing helmets and waited for the end that never came.

Well, personally i am skeptical myself. If its true, it will happen 4 years from now. Dying at 27. Hmm. A bit young, but i guess, we should always live life to our best and have no regrets. What will you do on Dec 20, if the 21 is the last day of the world. Was talking to a friend about this and pondered over it. I wun want to go out and try all the different stuff, i just wanna stay home and spend time with my loved ones. I dun need to eat shark fins and bird nest, just a bowl of instant noodles with boiled prawns will complete my life =).

next mon, back to tengah airbase to finish up 2.5 mths of army and finally ord! haha. pathetic. anyways been trying to make full use of this 1.5 weeks before going back.

watched sex is zero 2 on tues. really comical, slightly touching. nice! if u haven watch it, go!! brought 3 ladies to watch. i am sure they do not want to be named. haha. their 1st time (watching r21 movie) gave to me already!

went kel's hse to watch man u v barca match aft that. great match! wonderful goal by scholes! so now its down to man u v chelsea in the champions leagues finals. fighting both premier league and champions league title with them!! All the way man u! We will have both titles! =D

gav and i acc kel to sim lim on wed to get a new monitor. acc gav to get his new goggles. and nth for me! sadded, well i m open to donations =) headed to zouk at night. saw so many familiar faces! mambo jumbo is all time fav =))

oh and i completed "The Kite Runner" recommended by Daniel. Its a really nice book based on friendship, moral values and the life in afghanistan. i will recommemd it to u all too, so go check it out!

Oh also this week, completed God of War psp. one of my fav games, really nice! do check that out too.

wedding such a beautiful thing, union of 2 love birds.
was held at pan pac, food not bad. drank lots of red wine and some hard liquor =D nono and i are such good stirrers, haha made 1 guy puke and some to their limits.

they were screening the video of the morning visits to each other hses. damn funny, its a custom to undergo some challenges before the groom is allowed to see his bride. and so the guys have to wear undergarment and drink some bitter, sour, hot drink ... they had to form a set of 13 yao from a tub filled with tiles and ice! lots of other stuff.

1) Sashimi salad w/ Sushi Tei Dressing

First tried this at HV with Dorothy, afterwhich it became our fav salad! oh my, its esp for sashimi lovers! They are so generous with their sashimi! There a couple of other dressings, but the sushi tei dressing is really nice. It has a mouth-watering, savoury taste. Really good!

2) Prawn Salad w/ Mango Sauce Dressing

I nv really was a fan of salads till i tried this, recommended by Dorothy. Oh man, the mango sauce is really tasty and the salad is generously filled with fresh mango fruits and lots of succulet and fresh prawns. Simply fantastic!

3) Salmon Ceasar Salad

Dorothy told me about this salad for so long already but i only tried it not too long ago. The combination of cheddar cheese and smoked salmon and eggs make this salad really yummilicious!!

Was browsing Yahoo! when i came across this:

Teenagers seem to know that loud music can damage their hearing, yet most see no reason to lower the volume on their mp3s.

Very common dun u think? Very often you can hear others mp3 blasting their music and u can hear the music as if you turned on ur external speakers. I sometimes wonder, dun their ears ache from the extreme loudness of their mp3s?

They gave a rough guide for the volume of ur mp3s. Pretty useful i guess.

As a general "rule of thumb," MP3 users set the volume no higher than 60 percent of its full capacity when using "ear bud" style headphones, like those that come with iPods.

With over-the-ear headphones, they recommend 70 percent as the maximum.

10,000 BC was alright. Not fantastic i felt, but not that bad either. Its similar to Apocalypto. Tribal fights and all. I wish there were more Sabre Tooth action tho. Too lil, and would have been better if the Sabretooth could help the hero of the show! haha. 2.5/5! Cheers!

SG Biathlon.

Finally done with the SG Biathlon. It was an interesting experience. I will definitely try it again next year! The top fella did it in like 57mins, the whole thing! I think i took like 45 mins to finish the swim only. haha. anyway here is wat i rec for completing!

Planning to take part in the National Runway Cycling and Skating Event next. Theres a couple of categories, but i plan to go for the endurance 45km cycle. If you are interested to join me, do let me know!! =D

Finally i went to 2 Ridley Park and check out the line up of super cars parked at the front pouch of the house. ooooh inspirational! Went out with Ed & Stamford. We drove all around SG man. Well not really all around but some places. There were like 3 ferraris a Zonda a Lamborghini some mercs etc ... cars just parked all over! And the house is like super duper huge! Alright guys time to work hard! Imagine having a house which is a place of interest for others!

Went to Demsey, wanted to chill there, but that night was quiet so we headed over to MS. Watched the Man Utd match!! Congrats to Man U!!! 4-0! Arsenal is no match against us!

Headed to Mac at East COast. CHilled there a while. Stamford tried a power slide with his sunny, wth right! haha, but he was successful. tho i sat at the back i put on my seat belt man. safety 1st! slept at 7am.

woke up at 10am. had dimsum at inmperial at taka. food was not bad. but the place was packed man. reservation is a must! we went there and ate till 1230pm den they started to chase us away, cos he reserved till 1230pm and there were pple taking over our place.

congrats baby for passing your exams!! after all teh hardwork at mac a dee dee, it paid off. haha. get ready for a wonderful treat!

finally my swimming trial is here and done with! now i can start my training for the sg biathlon proper. yes! i passed it! haha, by a mere 12 sec! 39min48sec! Need to train harder. swimming in open waters gonna be much tougher! my aim for the biathlon is 1h30min!

Movie Review: AVP2 (Alien Vs Predator 2)

finally caught avp2. i know many did not enjoy avp, but i enjoyed it. for avp2, like it but not as great. summmary of storyline is new breed of alien killed all predators in spaceship which crash back on earth. the alien species started to infest a town. a predator travels to earth to clean up the mess. some scenes were too dark. could hardly see the alien moving. as kel mentioned. its alien vs predator, dun involve the human too much, we wanna see alien fighting action!! oh well, there might be a avp3 coming out. pls dun disappoint us!

I know of a movie coming out which owns AVP! Its titled DVD! Don Vs Doro! haha. Directed by acclaimed director Dorothy Erh. Starring Oscar winner Donovan and 7 times MTV awards winner Dorothy. Stay tune for the movie of the millennium! =D

one more person from the family i would like to mention is my grandmother. since young, shes given me lots of love and always pamper me with toys and games and whatever that i want. She love me and my sis so much, she will do anything in her capabilities to make us happy. Shes a really loving person, and throught out her whole life, shes always looking after people. Her kids, us, my granduncle and my grandfather. The hardship she goes through is really admirable. i will be a good grandson and give her my love too! thanks for everything por por!

This post is dedicated to my dearest, Dorothy! She was my secondary sch jr and stays opposite my block. The 1st time i met her was at Sunshine Place, a neighbourhood shopping centre. We arranged to meet for supper. She left a nice impression, being very spontaneous and generous. From that day on, i showered her with gifts and surprises and thats how our lil love story slowly grew.

The love and care she gives me never fail to put me on cloud nine. Her prawn noodles, chocolate cereal and special donuts. The time she dedicates when i m sick and the concern shown when i am down. The happiness, you bring to me leaves me in a stupor where fairytales do exist and happily ever after becomes reality.

Ive got more to talk abt our kiasu behaviors! Everytime at the MRT station, everyone will be trying to squeeze into the train before all the passengers exit the train. Or how abt we start labelling the doors, entrances and exits. wun that be more systematic? Or we can remove the chairs in the train? so pple wun have a reason to rush into the train to get a seat. so wat abt old folks or prgenant ladies? will it matter cos nowadays pple are not as considerate to give up their seats for them.

alright enough abt such behaviors. Lets talk abt cleaners who are hired to clear tables in foodcourts. some of them are really unprofessional. why would i hire someone to clean the table but in the process flick all the food onto the chair. so what now? i seat on the table and place my food on the chair? hmm, where is the professionalism? do i sound naggy? alright, enough complaints.

Tues Newpaper - Yesterday at the Esplanade; S'poreans 'chope seats' from 11am for midnight fireworks.

What the heck! How kiasu can they get? What are they going to do the whole day? A countdown of 13 hrs!!! At 1159am, they can start counting down to noon! "Yay 12pm liao! another 12 hrs only!" I wonder are Singaporeans really the most kiasu people around? Dun other countries have such habits? Well i guess due to our kiasu persona, we are a competitive nation always rising and striving for the best! Thats an optimistic way of looking at kiasu-ism isnt it!

Its the new year once again! So here i am making resolutions i probably make every single year without accomplishing. So why do i bother making the resolutions again? So i can write a new post for u all to read! haha.

Pet Tree is a miniature tree in a small cute casing with a strap. You can use it as ur keychain or attach it anywhere you like such as ur handphone or bag.

Donuts are all the hype now. Just like the bubble tea, it will slowly die off again. Just a few days back my neighbours came back from aus and they gave us a box of krispy kreme donuts! Tasty indeed! But would have been better if eaten fresh over there! haha. Well my fav donut is the chocolate one from donut factory at suntec! Well is the one at suntec called donut factory? haha. Anyways, its sweet and nice and made sweeter =D.

24 sept. the day i was brought into this world. cck bros from Tengah treated me to dinner on fri. nice catching up with them. relieved i disrupted and avoided all the shit. Sat, met up with my buddies. They treated me to dinner and had caught Rogue Assassin together. Will rate the shower around 3.5 outta 5. Not bad, but not that fantastic. Theres a twist at the end too. Sun and my family treating me Indian Cuisine! Yum! haha, gotta work out soon man. All this eating gonna make me fat!
